- The service is accessible via a web browser (non-proprietary) or web services API.
- There is zero capital expenditure required to get started.
- ou pay only for what you use as you use it.
- Not my data center (or closet) - This is same as Enterprise Colocation but the point is, I don't worry about the power, cooling, or redundancy.
- Not my hardware - Raising capital expenditure vs operating expenditure discussion
- Not my people - At both the infrastructure or application level (SaaS or IaaS -(Infrastructure-as-a-Service)).
- Not my software - Paying for all software; operating systems and virtualization software on a monthly basis, but I don't really "own" it.
- Not my Pager - At 3 AM when the hardware fails.
