More on the Economics of Cloud Computing
Friday, October 24, 2008 by Brian Wolff
Doug Gourley raised some interesting ideas in his discussion of the economics of cloud computing.  He says: As providers evolve from traditional hosting they may be facing a window of opportunity in the current, rather dismal, economic outlook: Cloud Computing.

 He clearly identifies the benefits
  • Expansion capability without capital investment
  • No need to build internal expertise in "non core" functions
  • Strong support of Business Continuance and Disaster Recovery
As areas of concern he raises security concerns.   However, at BlueLock the strategic integration of Shavlik technology into our Cloud Computing environment allows us to to assure our customer’s systems are appropriately configured and patched, thus mitigating any potential for risk.

With continuous monitoring, BlueLock’s clients have access to real time reports that verify that the appropriate protocols are being strictly followed.

Moving from an in-house server or a traditional Enterprise Co location solution will give companies both a secure and an financially attractive solution in the months to come.
